SUMMARY:Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT)
DESCRIPTION:Pivotal response treatment (PRT) is a 12-week, evidence-based intervention program that uses applied behaviour analysis (ABA) principles. PRT uses your young child’s (ages 1-4 years) motivation to teach communication and social engagement. You will learn the core strategies of the program so that you can use them in day-to-day routines and interactions with your child.\nThe program is highly individualized and can target many skills, including eye contact, requesting, turn taking, play skills, and how to gain your child’s attention using a range of strategies.\nSchedule\nThe program consists of 12 weekly one-hour coaching sessions with caregiver and child followed by three monthly booster coaching sessions.\nWeekly Coaching Sessions:\nJuly 6 – Sept 25, 2026 | 1 Day  | One hour in-person or virtual coaching sessions will be scheduled with families individually.\nIndividual Booster Sessions: Individual booster sessions will be scheduled with families when the 12 sessions are completed.\nPlease note that you must have received an invitation letter for Caregiver-Mediated Early Years Services and be registered with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) to be eligible for this service. Based on OAP guidelines, only one Early Years Caregiver Service is available per 12-month period.\n
